What a hash is for

A SHA-256 digest confirms the file you saved matches the posted package.

What a signature is for

A signature shows who produced the package. If the name looks wrong, do not run it.

Scanner notes

New installers can trip heuristic engines because they write files and shortcuts. A heuristic flag is not proof of infection. Compare the hash before you restore a file.
